Autumn de Wilde is brilliant.

So I've always been a huge huge fan of most everything photographer Autumn de Wilde does. She's one of the few artists working in the music industry whom I really believe creates unique images. She doesn't just take pictures, she creates them. Images that are both creative and insightful to what the music she's representing is really about. She is fun, very quirky and young. And I find everything she does very inspiring. Her most famous images are probably those of Elliot Smith and Beck. Autumn is also the mastermind behind a huge group of other artists as well including but not limited to Death Cab, Rilo Kiley, Fiona Apple, Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, The White Stripes, She and Him etc etc. Basically she is brilliant. I came across this video on her myspace today and wanted to share it. I especially love her description of it.

"So I spent a couple of days in Nashville recently. Got this idea to put 8ft mirrors in the forest and delve into the surreal compartment of my brain. The guys have a similar compartment in theirs and by the end of the day we had abandoned reality and redefined right, left, front and back. Perhaps I have talked to my old friend E one too many times about his father's Parallel Universe Theory. The forest will never look the same to us. I want to bring my mirrors with me everywhere now. An Indonesian fortune teller whispered in my ear, and The Hanged Man was dealt to us in more places than you might think. The search for understanding sometimes ends upside-down so the search is on my friends.... tell me what you have found.
Autumn d.W."

I really wish I had thought of this. Enjoy.

What do you think? Any other photographers who think and shoot like this I should check out?
